CHI NEI TSANG

WHAT IS CHI NEI TSANG

Chi Nei Tsang (CNT) translates to “working the energy of the internal organs.” It is an ancient practice rooted in Taoism.  The practice of CNT offers a holistic approach to health and wellbeing - integrating the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of our being. It is a hands-on bodywork and energy healing modality that focuses on opening the breath and chi flow (life force energy) to the organs in the belly through touch and applied Chi Kung - a system of coordinated body-posture, movement, breathing, and meditation used for bringing energy into our body and spirit.

HOW IT WORKS

Similar to the principles of Somatic Experiencing, CNT understands that emotions are held in the body when we encounter difficult experiences that are hard to digest or process. In Taoist 5 Element theory, it is understood that the body is not separate from thoughts and emotions, and that each major organ supports the digestion of different emotional charges. Using deep yet soft, gentle touches, CNT practitioners  work mainly in the abdomen to train internal organs to work more efficiently, address unprocessed emotional charges and clear energetic and physical blockages so that vital energy (chi) can flow smoothly. This impacts not only our emotional wellbeing, but also our body systems such as our digestive, respiratory,  fascial, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, and muscular-skeletal system.

WHAT CNT CAN HELP WITH

It’s important to note that each person’s experience with Chi Nei Tsang (or any other modality)  is unique. Below are some of the benefits of participating in Chi Nei Tsang:
• Improved circulation throughout whole body
• Detoxification and improved function of the liver, kidneys, intestines, pancreas, spleen, lungs, stomach, bladder, and reproductive organs
• Improved digestion and stimulated peristaltic action of the intestines
• Stimulated lymphatic flow
• Relaxed nervous system
• Lower back, shoulder and neck pain relief
• Relaxed abdominal organs, thereby affecting the skeletal-muscular structures
• Greater connection to, feeling and integration with emotional charges stored within the abdomen
• Relief from depression and anxiety
• Increased clarity of mind and life purpose
